Here's the thing....there is SO MUCH information coming out on perimenopause and menopause.
For years I thought it was a lot of hype, but then I really started working with women in this age and stage of life (and now I am right there in the thick of it - about to turn 46).
This is a stage in life where there is a lot of shifting going on, and the ovaries are starting to do less of the work and passing the baton to the adrenals, gut, skin, brain, liver & mitochondria (YES - we do make hormones in other places than the ovaries).
During this stage of life - Mitochondria become extra stressed - hormones shift - and women DO become less insulin sensitive (hello estrogen) - less resilient to stress (hello progesterone) & less energetic (testosterone). It's quite honestly a state of inflammation.
Now - before you label me as PRO - HRT or against it - I want to offer a different point of view.....
What if we supported women nutritionally - gave them extra mitochondrial support - helped them balance blood sugar & gave them information (so they could practice informed consent about their own care).
That's what I do my best to do in my private practice - as well as in my group, and why I have an entire hour long module in the brand new Quantum Nutrition Course - dedicated exclusively to perimenopause and menopause.
When you know what's going on in your body (good luck having your doctor explain it π) - you can be better armed at making better nutritional choices - lifestyle changes & choose which path (HRT or herbs) - might be best for you.
That's always my goal here & in my podcast...to let you explore ALL sides of things and ultimately make your own decision.
