Bee sting or biohack? What happened when I got curious..

This week while relaxing outside - a bee stung me on the sole of my foot, and it definitely took me by surprise. Luckily I know that I am not anaphylactic - (and if you are - this information doesn't necessarily apply to you - please seek medical attention) - so I was able to get curious.

I posted in my stories about it & got over 100 crowd sourced remedies that I want to share with you today - as well as what I actually did that worked.

This week I got stung by a bee, and the same day my good friend Justine posted about her bee sting experience on instagram (click here for her post).

The experience made me dig deeper, and get curious.

What’s in a Sting?

Bee venom isn’t simply a nuisance it’s actually an interesting cocktail of bioactive peptides and enzymes. For those without anaphylactic reactions, a bee sting could offer some benefits:

  • Melittin – anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and cytotoxic to tumor cells by modulating NF-κB signaling
  • Apamin – a neuroprotective peptide that inhibits calcium-activated potassium channels, with potential roles in neurodegenerative diseases
  • Adolapin – supports pain relief via prostaglandin inhibition
  • Plus enzymes like phospholipase A2, hyaluronidase, and more

Research atcually shows potential benefits in:

  • Autoimmune conditions (RA, MS)
  • Neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s)
  • Chronic pain & tissue repair
  • Cancer studies (selective cytotoxicity to tumor cells)
  • Microcirculation & mitochondrial healing

My Experience

I didn’t get hives, swelling or a histamine reaction ...But I did get full-body chills that came in waves after the bee sting.

Here’s what I did - and what worked for me (remember that things like this can be bio-individual).

My Personal Protocol:

And here’s something interesting: Right before I got pregnant, I was stung by a bee.

I’ve quietly wondered ever since whether that unexpected sting may have nudged my immune system, inflammation, or mitochondrial signaling in a way that supported fertility (and at that point when I was stung - I did nothing).

Still anecdotal… but hard to ignore.

Crowdsourced Remedies:

Over 100 of you weighed in - here’s a comprehensive breakdown (and I promised to share them):

*note - I am just sharing the ideas sent to me & don't necessarily endorse all of these - so please understand that disclaimer*

Topical Remedies & Poultices:

(for pain, itch, swelling, or venom draw)

• Baking soda paste (water, lavender, or hydrogen water)

• Plantain leaf (chewed/spit poultice or wild-grown)

• Bentonite clay (sometimes mixed with silver or deodorant)

• Activated charcoal paste

• Honey

• Onion (pressed or cut and rubbed)

• Garlic clove

• Apple cider vinegar

• Lime juice

• Mud or dirt (when no clean options are available)

• Colloidal silver

• Lavender essential oil (dabbed or mixed in paste)

• Peppermint, tea tree, thieves, lemon oils

• Metal spoon (pressed on sting to neutralize pain)

• Soap + cold water rinse

• Toothpaste (Colgate!)

• Zeolite powder paste

• Yarrow flower rubbed directly on site

• DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide)

• CBD/CBG/CBDa blends

• Purification oil (Young Living)

Homeopathic Remedies:

(most recommended category by far)

• Apis Mellifica (30c, 200c, and higher)

• Ledum Palustre (often in combo with Apis)

• Histaminium

• Apis every 15 mins (for acute reaction, as used personally)

• Ice + Apis combo

• Earthley black drawing salve (homeopathy + activated charcoal)

Folk Wisdom & Natural remedies

• Chewing tobacco

• Let the venom “do its job” & leave it alone

• Ice + time

• Urine

• Grounding directly on the earth

• DSMO for deep inflammation

• Echinacea tincture (internal + topical use for venom neutralization)

• Kidney capsules (for systemic support with histamine overload)

💊 OTC & Internal Support (I don't necessarily recommend these as a first line of defense - but these were sent to me - so I wanted to include them).

• Benadryl (for mild histamine-type reactions)

• Ibuprofen (if swelling/inflammation)

• Aspirin (placed directly on the sting site)

Why I love Homeopathy (and It’s Not Woo)

Homeopathy works on the level of biological signaling, not force.

It’s not about chemical dosing - it’s about regulatory input, and it aligns very well with quantum biology.

Just like nanomolar hormone pulses or low-intensity light can trigger massive biological cascades, ultra-dilute remedies can activate pathways the body already knows.

Studies show:

  • Homeopathic Apis regulates mast cells and reduces edema in animal models.¹
  • Ultra-low doses of histamine affect basophil activation in vitro.²
  • Imaging studies show measurable metabolic and bioenergetic responses.³
  • Even water structure changes in response to remedies - a possible carrier of biophysical information.⁴

Homeopathy utilizes biology and quantum-level signaling, and I plan on continuing to use it when appropriate in my own home!
