The Breast Cancer study no one's talking about

And in this case - why sunrise matters more than your red light panel. And a few things I would personally explore if I was faced with breast cancer

Scientists halted the growth of breast cancer cells with light in this study

I'm a huge huge fan of red light therapy - don't get me wrong......But I'm also a huge fan of finding built-in ways that nature can heal us, and sharing that information here with you.

So - today I'm sharing an interesting study that showed a promising response to breast cancer cells when exposed to near infrared light (and BTW - your panel probably doesn't have this specific frequency....but you can get it naturally).

I also want to share what I would personally do if I was diagnosed with breast cancer (of course none of this is medical advice & for informational purposes only).

In 2023, a group of researchers made an interesting discovery: a single wavelength of light was able to stop breast cancer cells from growing.

The study, published in Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, exposed breast cancer cells (MCF7) to a very specific type of near-infrared light: 734 nanometers.

After just six sessions of daily exposure, the cells stopped multiplying. But they didn’t die. Instead, they entered a state called senescence - a kind of permanent “retirement” where the cell stops dividing, without causing inflammation or damage to nearby tissue.

This effect wasn’t seen in healthy breast cells, and only the cancer cells were impacted, suggesting that this wavelength can target dysfunction without harming normal tissue.

The researchers traced the effect back to the mitochondria - the cell’s energy and communication center. When exposed to 734 nm light, the mitochondria triggered a chain of signals that led to DNA changes, oxidative stress, and eventually cellular shutdown.

What makes this so fascinating is that 734 nm light isn’t artificial. It’s not some exotic laser only found in research labs. It’s a naturally occurring wavelength, found in abundance in sunlight - especially at sunrise.

In the early morning, just before UV light appears, the sky is filled with primarily with long wavelengths of red and near-infrared light. These wavelengths are known to penetrate deeply into the body, influencing mitochondria in every tissue they reach - from skin to brain to immune cells.

The takeaway here is that there is powerful evidence that natural light carries signals that shape how our cells behave.....and many of those signals are deeply therapeutic.

Most people miss this window entirely due to modern life (I don't think I intentionally started going outside for sunrise until I was in my 40's 😓).

People stay indoors, wear sunglasses, or wait until UV is high and more intense. But at sunrise, the body is naturally primed to receive this light: melatonin is fading, cortisol is rising, and the circadian system is taking in information from the eyes and skin to set the biological tone for the day.

If you want to support your mitochondrial health, immune regulation, and cellular repair systems, you don’t always have to start with a supplement or a red light device. You can start by stepping outside each morning!

Even just 5 to 10 minutes of morning light exposure - before UV arrives sends powerful messages to your cells.

Now a quick note on what I would do if I was faced with a cancer diagnosis (not medical advice - just a quick list of my personal thoughts):

  • I would strongly consider working with Dr. Connealy to get a second opinion & explore integrative options.
  • I would continue daily sunlight exposure - especially in the early morning hours (sunrise - UVA & early UVB).
  • I would make sure to use MyCircadianApp to make sure I was getting adequate vitamin D every day using the vitamin D timer
  • I would continue wearing blue blockers and blocking artificial light at night (there is a STRONG correlation between artificial light at night and all types of hormonal cancers - especially breast cancer)
  • I would continue using hydrogen inhalation daily & drinking hydrogen water - click here to read my article on this with citations
  • I would practice ketosis and fasting (as outlined in Quantum Nutrition 2.0)
  • I would consider doing some therapeutic cold plunging as talked about in this episode
  • I would likely do a deuterium depletion - as discussed in this episode
  • I would definitely continue red light therapy & move all my sessions to morning after viewing natural light (this is when the most mitochondrial benefits occur according to Dr. Glen Jeffery)
  • I would likely ring up the Conner's Clinic to see if rife would be appropriate
  • I would explore somatic/lifestyle/emotional/nervous system support.

Not a full list - but these are the first things that come to my mind, and I have had many breast cancer survivors (and cancer survivors) in my community who have done my Leptin Reset & now utilize it as a lifestyle over the last few years.

Many of them have exclaimed to me that the Quantum/Circadian work is the most powerful thing they have done to support themselves.

Here's. one of my favorite testimonials from a group member and a Leptin Reset Graduate who had a blood cancer & is now in remission ⬇️⬇️⬇️

I hope you enjoyed this & it gave you some inspiration - I know it did me!
