apparently my dinner offended four wellness cults

Plus today is the last day to lock in a 3 payment plan if you want my help!

Carrots, fiber, and the great “you’re doing it wrong” pile-on

Hi Reader

This week I made the tragic mistake of sharing my meals on instagram & got a sharp reminder of how utterly confused people are when it comes to what they should (or shouldn't eat).

I'll link the post below so you can check it out and rate your level of "offended". (I kid - well kind of 😂).

I've spoken a bit about cults (here) & specifically diet cults (here) - but I encountered a couple of new ones this week and I have some thoughts.

Keep reading and I'll explain....

LAST DAY for 3 payment plan: Blueprint Coaching (get help from me) starts on August 24th - click here for early bird & 3 payment plan *ends tonight*

The meal share GONE WRONG.......

Please remind me to never share what I'm eating again lol

I ate my own meals off my own plate and somehow offended four different wellness cults on Instagram this week.

First someone told me you can’t clear excess hormones from your body without soluble fiber specifically (beans), and to go read Karen Hurd’s work. Not accurate. Insoluble fiber, lignans, gut motility, and your liver’s detox pathways are all doing this job together. it’s not “beans or nothing.”

(and no - I am not 100% anti-her protocol - but I could be for many people - especially if they can't tolerate beans to start with)

THEN someone told me carrots contain estrogen. They don’t. Carrots contain plant compounds that can interact with estrogen receptors in some contexts, but that’s a very different claim than “carrots have estrogen in them,” and it doesn’t mean you need to avoid them.

Next a different person told me if I don’t shred my carrots before eating them, there’s no point in eating them at all to help clear estrogen. Also not true. You absorb plenty from a whole carrot. shredding can modestly increase absorption of certain compounds (beta carotene), it doesn’t make whole carrots pointless - especially if you are using it to clear excess hormones. Also we have TEETH.

And then my personal favorite, someone let me know I shouldn’t be sharing a meal because people with SIBO or histamine intolerance can’t eat it. I know. I’m not writing anyone a protocol in a caption. I’m eating my own dinner, which I personally tolerate just fine.

(here's the post if you want to grab your popcorn and go read the comments)

Here’s the actual point underneath all of it & why so many people are so confused: Every single one of those comments was true for somebody, and false as a blanket rule for everybody else. That’s the whole problem with wellness internet right now. People take one real mechanism that applies to their body, their gut, their sensitivities, and turn it into an absolute law for every body.

That’s exactly why individualization isn’t a nice bonus: it’s the entire game. What works for the SIBO comment person could be completely wrong for you. What the "bean lady's" audience needs might not touch your actual hormone picture at all. you can’t outsource that to a stranger’s comment section.

This is the whole reason Blueprint exists - it’s not a generic protocol. it’s built around your body, your season, your goals, what’s actually doable in your life right now. here’s what that’s looked like for people who’ve gone through it: (click here to read our testimonials)

Today is the last day to lock in the 3-payment plan for Blueprint + $100 off early bird.

After today, that option goes away for this round. if you already know you want in and just need the payment plan to make it work, this is the day to do it.

If you’re still on the fence, come to the free info session next week instead (click here to grab your spot).

I’ll walk through exactly what’s in the program, how the calls work, and answer questions live before you have to decide anything.

No pressure either way, just wanted you to have the actual deadline instead of finding out after it’s passed.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Warm Regards,

Sarah
